2020 Taupo-nui-a-Tia is a three-year multi-agency project initiated in July 2001 to develop a long-term vision and action plan for the sustainable development of Lake Taupo and its catchment. It is based on the values and aspirations of the local Ngati Tuwharetoa and the wider community. Extensive community consultation and a science review have resulted in a list of perceived hazards associated with the lake and its catchment. This Human health risk assessment report focuses on the safety of drinking water and recreational water.
