Policy effectiveness reports
The Resource Management Act requires that local authorities monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of methods in their plans and policy statements, and regularly make reviews of this monitoring available to the public.
Waikato Regional Council has undertaken to carry out these reviews by investigating the extent to which the objectives of the Waikato Regional Policy Statement are being achieved. Each review will look at a selection of objectives, so that every five years all objectives will have been reviewed.
The reviews are to include:
- a description and discussion of the relevant objectives
- an analysis of the extent to which the methods to achieve the objectives are being implemented
- a review of pressures and environmental conditions relevant to the objectives
- recommendations for future policy development, method implementation and information collection.
