Our public transport services provide access to education, employment, recreation, healthcare and more, while also helping to cut congestion and reduce carbon emissions.
But the legacy funding arrangements that have evolved over time are more complex than they need to be.
They create barriers to the comprehensive strategic planning we need to do to deliver consistent public transport region-wide, as well as administrative burdens that can result in unnecessary costs and delays to much-needed service improvements.
We think there’s a better way – a solution that could improve affordability while also enhancing our ability to respond efficiently to changing community needs.
