Waikato Region greenhouse gas inventory – July 2015 to June 2016
Waikato Regional Council Technical Report 2017/31. This is the first baseline report for Waikato Region’s Community-scale Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions Inventory. The inventory was compiled following the Global Protocol for Community-Scale Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventories (GPC), which is considered best practice for community-based inventories.

Treasury's Living Standards Framework
Treasury’s vision is focused on higher living standards for New Zealanders. Achieving this requires growing the country's human, social, natural, and financial/physical capitals. A dashboard of wellbeing indicators is in development to support New Zealand’s first Wellbeing Budget in 2019.  

Ministry for the Environment – Environmental Reporting
The Ministry for the Environment (MfE) reports on the state of New Zealand’s environment across five key areas: air, atmosphere and climate, fresh water, land, and our marine environment.

New Zealand's Environmental Reporting Series: Environmental indicators Te taiao Aotearoa
Statistics New Zealand (SNZ) presents indicators and trends across five environmental domains – marine, fresh water, atmosphere and climate, land, and air – plus the cross-domain area of biodiversity. The indicators cover topics on the state of our environment, pressures that contribute to this state, and the impacts this state has on us as New Zealanders.

Wellington Genuine Progress Index (WR-GPI)
The Greater Wellington Regional Council has developed the Wellington Region Genuine Progress Index (GPI) to monitor progress in the Wellington region. The GPI measures the quality of life and wellbeing of residents in the region, as well as the condition of their environment and the economy.

OECD Better Life Index
The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Better Life Index details quality of life information for countries around the world, including New Zealand.  You can search for information by country, by rank and by topic.

Canadian Index of Wellbeing (CIW)
The University of Waterloo (Ontario, Canada) has developed a Canadian Index of Wellbeing (CIW).  The CIW focuses identifying economic, social and environmental conditions and tracking their progress in relation to quality of life and wellbeing for Canadians.

Australian National Development Index (ANDI)
The Australian National Development Index is an incorporated member-owned initiative of leading community organisations, peak bodies, businesses, faith-based organisations, researchers, and independent, non-partisan grassroots citizens. Recognised and endorsed by the Australian Government, the group has developed a holistic measure of national progress and wellbeing that provides a snapshot of how Australians are doing as a people, as communities and as a nation.

New Zealand Deprivation Index (NZDep)
The NZDep index is a Census-based measure of deprivation in New Zealand. It measures deprivation at the meshblock level. Maps and research papers are available online.

New Zealand Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD)
The IMD is a set of tools for identifying concentrations of deprivation in New Zealand. It measures deprivation at the neighbourhood level in custom designed data zones. Maps and research papers are avaialble online.

Statistics New Zealand – Census 2018
Census results for the New Zealand Census of Population and Dwellings held on Tuesday, 6 March 2018 will be released during 2018/19.

Statistics New Zealand – wellbeing
The New Zealand General Social Survey (NZGSS) includes wellbeing statistics which measure individuals' perceptions of their life. The NZGSS is New Zealand's official survey of wellbeing.

Ministry of Transport – Transport Indicators
The Ministry of Transport (MoT) provides transport-related indicators including measures around traffic volumes, freight volumes, road safety, the environmental impacts of transport, transport infrastructure and investment, the public health effects of transport, access to transport, travel patterns and transport-related prices.

Environmental Health Indicators NZ
The Centre for Public Health Research, Massey University carries out Monitoring New Zealand’s Environmental Health (MNZEH).  This includes conducting research into the effect of environment factors on the health of the animal and human populations.
